Greek Holidays/Traditions

Hey, Bryant here. I'm here to show you some of the holidays/traditions in Greece.

Januray sixth is Epiphany. They celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is marked by the blessing of the waters.

The Carnival, Also known as Apokries, is expressed by three weeks of dancing, and eating. Some of the carnival parades take place in Corfu, Patra, Xanthi, and Rethymna.

March the twenty fifth is The feast of Annunciation. On this day, they celebrate the day Angel said Mary was the incarnation of Christ. They have a big feast celebrating it

April the twenty third is the Feast of Saint George. This celebrates the knight that killed the dragon. They have a feast celebrating it.

The day of the holy spirit takes place about 30 days after easter. They celebrate the day the holy spirit presented to Apostles.

August 15th is the day of the Assupption of Virgin Mary. This celebrates Mary's asent to heaven. Pilgrimages take place in all places of Greece.
