The Greek Civil War

Hi, I'm here to tell you about the Greek Civil War. The Greek Civil War was part of the Cold War that lasted from 1946 to 1949. It was fought between the Greek govern army with the U.K,U.S.A, and the Democratic Army of Greece vs. the military branch of Greece Communist Party with the help of Bulgaria,Yugoslavia,and Albania. The first signs of the civil war occurred in 1942-1944 during the Occupation. The western supported government forces won the war. The civil war left Greece with a vehemently anticommunist secerity establishment. These are the casualties and loses of the war. For the Hellenic army 15,268 dead, 37,255 wounded, 3,843 missing and 865 deserters. For the Hellenic Gendarmerie 1,485 dead, 3,143 wounded, and 159 missing. Also 1,000,000 people were reloacated during the war.
